Kale Chips Sweet And Spicy

servings=1

This recipe is fine for all stages of the program

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of kale
  • cinnamon powder (2 pinches)
  • honey substitute (1 squeeze) – optional
  • canola or olive oil
  • cayenne pepper (1 pinch)
  • tinfoil
  • tray or cookie sheet

Directions

  1. Wash kale and take the leaves off the stems (basically if you don’t want to eat the hard stalk in the center, slice it out, if you don’t mind it, you can leave it there and just chop the kale into bite sized pieces) then dry in spinner or towel.
  2. Put the dried kale in a bowl and add the honey, cinnamon, canola oil and cayenne pepper mixing very well.
  3. Line a tray (or cookie sheet) with some tinfoil and preheat your oven 360°F.
  4. Place kale spacing them out (can do another batch), for 20 to 25 minutes or until crisp, checking once and while.  (the honey makes them sticky and they don’t crisp as well when stuck together.  Take the crispy ones and move them around until all are crispy)

NOTE: These are great when you have a really crazy craving.  Has a really nice flavour. Enjoy!
